Sunderland vs Everton

Our final day in England was spent at an English Premier League game - Sunderland vs Everton.  After spending the previous few days touring Sunderland, training with Sunderland coaches, and getting to know more about the club, everyone was excited to finally see them play.  The game kicked off seven minutes late and there was a minute of silence across the stadium.  This was to pay tribute to the 96 Liverpool fans who lost their lives in the Hillsborough disaster 25 years ago when the stadium collapsed.  Unfortunately, Sunderland lost 0-1 to Everton, moving them that much closer to relegation.

Sunderland Training Academy

On our second day of training, the team had a once in a lifetime opportunity to train at the Sunderland Academy.  The academy is where all of the Sunderland teams train, and is an exquisite facility.  It was certainly a privilege to have this opportunity.

Newcastle United Stadium Tour

During one of our free days, a few of us had the opportunity to tour the Newcastle United Stadium.  This stadium had an incredible view of the city and we were allowed to climb to the very top for a breathtaking view of the pitch.
